You can create a Production Order in EMERGE either manually when demand arise or have it automatically generated by the system when you place an order including the items need production.
How to Add Production Expense to a Production Order?
Once a Sales Order is created, a Production Order will be automatically created and have a status of 'in progress' in the Production Order tab.
Click 'EDIT' in the Actions column. The Production Order of the item will open.
Enter the Production Expense per unit item in the provided field.
Click 'Save' once done.
The system will automatically calculate the Final Landed Cost per unit using this formula:
Final Landed Cost = Landed Cost per Unit + Production Expense per Unit
This allows you to record additional production-related expenses(eg. labor, machine, or utility costs) that impact the fina COGS.
How to Reserve Raw Materials for a Specific Production Order?
In the Production Order tab, Click 'EDIT' in the Actions column to open the Production Order you want to reserve materials for.
Select the raw material you want to reserve and click 'Deploy' button.
Confirm the action by clicking 'Yes.' Once confirmed, the reserved raw materials will be deducted from inventory immediately, even if the finished goods are not yet produced.
The status of Production Order is now changed to Deployed.
