Before you start
Each item needs a weight and/or CBM (cubic metres) saved on the product. If an item has neither, EMERGE cannot calculate anything for it.
You need at least one container set up. See How to Create a Container.
How to open it
Go to the Delivery Order list (or the Sales Order list).
Tick the orders you want to load together.
In the mass-action menu, choose Loading container.
If no order is ticked, a warning appears and the window does not open.
The window at a glance
1. Container selection and capacity
Choose the container from the dropdown. The first container in your list is selected automatically. Switching container instantly recalculates every number in the window.
Next to the dropdown you will see the container's limits:
Number | What it means |
Max weight (kg) | The heaviest load this container can carry. |
Max CBM (m³) | The total volume of space inside the container. |
A status label on the right tells you where you stand:
Within capacity (green): both weight and volume are within the limits.
Over capacity (orange): weight or volume is over the limit. Only one needs to be exceeded.
2. The item table
You get one row per item per order, grouped by order number. Click an order number to open that order in a new tab.
Column | What it means |
Qty | Quantity of the item to load. Starts from the order quantity, and you can edit it. |
Weight (kg) | Item's unit weight × Qty. |
CBM (m³) | Item's unit CBM × Qty. |
Weight % | How much of the container's max weight this line uses. |
CBM % | How much of the container's max CBM this line uses. |
Suggested Qty | The most of this item you could load, see below. |
3. Total and Remaining
These two rows stay at the bottom as you scroll.
Total: the sum of all lines' weight and CBM, also shown as a percentage of the container.
Remaining: container maximum minus Total, which is the room you have left.
If weight or CBM goes over the limit, its Total and Remaining figures turn red.
Try different quantities
Change any Qty to test a "what if". Weight, CBM, percentages, Suggested Qty, Total and Remaining all update as you type.
Quantities are whole numbers. A decimal is rounded to the nearest whole number.
A negative or empty entry becomes 0.
Understanding Suggested Qty
Suggested Qty answers one question for each line:
"If I change only this item and leave everything else as it is, what is the most I can load without going over the container's weight or CBM limit?"
How it works
EMERGE works out the space left for this item: the container's limit minus what all the other lines already use.
It checks how many units fit in that space by weight, and separately by CBM.
The smaller of the two is your maximum, because whichever limit runs out first stops you.
The maximum is rounded down to a whole number, so you never go over.
How to read the result
A green + number means you can add that many units.
A red − number means you need to remove that many units.
The tag, Weight limit or CBM limit, tells you which limit stops this item first. If both run out at exactly the same point, CBM limit is shown.
The small text under it, e.g.
Qty 450 → 475 · Weight 100.0%, shows your current Qty, the maximum Qty, and how full the limiting dimension becomes.
Other results you may see
What you see | What it means |
No change (with a tag) | Your Qty is already the exact maximum. |
Dash + "Less than 1 qty of space left" | You can't fit another whole unit, but a small gap remains. |
Dash + "Still over the limit even at Qty 0" | The other lines alone already exceed the limit. Reduce other items instead. |
Dash, no tag, no text | The item has no weight or CBM saved, so no suggestion is possible. |
⚠️ Important: Each suggestion assumes every other line stays the same. Don't add the suggestions together or apply them all at once. After you change one line, check the others again.
Need a container that isn't in the list?
At the bottom of the dropdown, choose Add New. This opens the container management window (you need permission to create company settings). When you close it, the new container is selected automatically. See How to Create a Container.
Good to know
Container weight is always in kg, and volume in m³.
CBM in this window is always shown to 4 decimal places.
Closing the window does not save anything. Your orders stay unchanged.
